Deepak Mallya is an interdisciplinary designer, interested in exploring and understanding  new roles the designer plays in the context of technology, science and society. He is currently studying Design Engineering across The Royal College of Art and Imperial College in London. His primary area of focus is exploring social contexts and implications of AI. He believes every discipline and areas of enquiry can be viewed as a medium with unique material qualities; by blending them and experimenting with them, new and wonderful ideas can be generated.

He is the founding member of Treemouse Research and Design, in New Delhi, where he lead various strategic and experimental design projects, across fin-tech, electric mobility, and healthcare. He has also a visiting faculty at the New Media Design Programme at the National Institute of Design.

He has previously worked at Honeywell, Cisco, SAP, Jaguar Land Rover, Tata Elxsi, Intel and other companies. His work has won various National and international awards and has been showcased in various events including the Consumer Electronic Show, National Innovation Foundation, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore Planetarium, The Indian Institute of Science.
